This '49 Caddy hearse was my party wagon during my teen years. Wide doors and a hydraulic coffin table made it handy for transporting bikes when needed. She could really cruise down the highway too.

My first bike. I bought this '55 Panhead when I was fifteen. I rode it for a few years, keeping it stock all the while.

I wanted a new and more reliable bike but couldn't afford a Harley, so I bought this '68 Triumph TR6. After a bit I added the Bonneville head, butterfly exhaust clamps, low apehangers etc.

| After riding British a couple years, I got the yearning for a Harley again and picked up this '71 Police Special for a good price.
It came with the standard foot clutch, 3 speed tranny with reverse (for side-car) and black exhaust and wheels, wide handlebars and 5 gallon tanks. I rode it like that the first year.

In those days you couldn't just go to the corner store, buy custom parts and bolt them on. With the help of friends I started to modify her and painted her green, bob rear fender (threw away the front one), loud straight pipes, a Bates headlight and stripped down and chromed the factory length front end.

A four speed foot shift tranny and Barnet clutch made a rocket out of it. For the front wheel I used an old 45"HD 18" rim laced to the stock hub. Painted her with blue marine enamel. We ground-off the rough edges from the trees, dropped longer legs in'em, smaller fuel tanks, added some chrome.

Hand made straight pipes by Gary's Custom were added the next year. The ends turned out to the right, the effect on the pedestrians when I would stop at a light was fun as it tended to hit them with invisible little slaps of warm air. Glass-beading the primary added a nice touch.

The following riding season I gave it a new saddle, and finally, after some persuasion from local law enforcement, tapered mufflers were installed.

I bought my '83 FXSB Low Rider new, and other than add a few things like a new saddle (still have the original), and non permanent stuff like, coffin shaped windshield, leather tool kit and over the saddle leather bags, she's completely stock to this day.
| Because of the short riding season here in Canada she has low mileage.
It's my intention to keep this bike original as it's now considered vintage.
