About this Cadet Corps

History

On September 12 1966, the City Council of the city of Pointe-Claire adopted the resolution on 12 September 1966 and the Cadet Corps was formed on 10 October 1966. The Royal Montreal Regiment (RMR), affiliated with this cadet corps, was also created on that day.

 

On 22 October 1972, His worship Mayor A.E. Sequin, N.M.A., kindly presented the Cadet Corps with its own flag at a colorful ceremony that was held near the City Hall. On 1977, the Cadet corps was formed. The 6th brigade drill competition was held on 1995, and the 2806 Pointe-Claire-Cadet Corps was 2nd!

The Training

The 2806 Pointe-Claire Cadet Corps is a place where every saturday, numerous Cadets are train. The Cadet training is designed to promote leadership, citizenship and a sound character. In the local training, we promote fitness by encouraging our Cadets to practice sports. We have optional training, which means the Cadets can train for drill, sports, and bushcraft. There is also theory classes in the morning. Frequently, there is special occasion such as field exercise, field trips, important parades and more.

Usually we hold trainings every saturday from 9H00 to 16H00. The Local training usually starts from the beginning of September and finishes in June.
If you are interested in joining the best youth movement in Canada, you will need to bring the following things to the unit :

  • Print, Fill, Sign this FORM (PDF Format)
  • Bring a proof of provincial health coverage
  • Bring a proof of legal residency (Canadian birth certificate, citizenship certificate, etc.)
