Geüße - Hello - Bonjour ALL Visitors!

Résumé Index Page of Montreal resident.

This is a shortened version of my CV below!
It shows mostly an indepth overview of my CAD/CAM,
                DataBase and Computer Networking activities!

For a more complete CV see links below!
              ---------------------------------------------

My CAD involvements over the years were mainly with Autocad, Cadkey,
and various Networked and Relational databases and data formats as follows:

Throughout most of the 80's, taught Autocad along
with true 3D Cadkey. OS systems included DOS and UNIX. Taught
DataBase
applications such as Profile16 and DBase(2,3,4)
and RBase5000. Taught CAM application SATCAM (Schematic Assembly
and Tooling). My students were both college level as well as
company personnel. Taught at "Walker College" and also worked
at an HP dealership during collegial summer vacations.
The HP dealership sold many HP computers along with HI-RES screens,
HPGL plotters, TWAIN scanners, camera and EPS imaging software and
other CAD/CAM application software and interface drivers.
I provided technical support for all installations along with staff
training when required.
Also wrote some specialized AutoLISP routines which certain customers
requested.

    From 1990 - 1991 I was hired as programmer /
troubleshooter by a Plastics Design Company and their affiliate.
Atlantic Extrusion / Worker Technologies, North Sydney
(Nova Scotia) / Montreal Qc.
Was initially brought in among other things, to set-up and manage
a Novell Network along with AutoCAD and related software and hardware.
Ended up also writing a complex Database/robotics man-to-machine
interface program using "Turbo C", which controlled a 16 axis 1/4
million dollar robotic machining center. My program would produce
a DataBase output file , which when sent to the tooling robot through
a communications port, gave the machining instructions to produce
the required parts. One database of instructions could be sent to
produce hundreds of finished profiles, each with different build
specifications. The robot arm would place all finished products
with the same spec's. in the same bin, and each of different spec's.
in a different bin on the discharge wagon and all parts were labelled.
BTW - The instructions in the DataBase my program created, consisted
of a specialized set of NC control codes, specific to this and other
German built equipment and products made by "Beckhoff" .DE.
Also extensively utilized OrCAD to produce documentation for the
design, redesign or modification of other equipment during my
employment there.

    From 1991 - 1994 worked as computer / network
consultant for Black & McDonald Construction Co. headquarters in
Montreal. There i became heavily involved with industrial and
mechanical drawings, design, estimation and so on. Worked extensively
with project management tools like "Time Line" and DataBase / spread
sheet programs like DataEase, Paradox and Excell.

CAD programs utilized were mostly AUTOCAD and CADKEY.
Imported/exported many CAD drawing files between their Internal DataBase
structures to/from other applications using ASCII DXF in/out format
containing the DXF ASCII headers, blocks, entities, tables and other
definition codes. Wrote Perl and C programs to extract specific
information from DXFOUT DataBase files, to do costing and other calculations.
Also imported/exported IGES files between AutoCad and Cadkeys'internal
compact DWG Vector DataBase file representation
(ie. points, lines and
polygons vs. human readable ascii files.)
Some people only know how to use either AutoCAD or Cadkey.

Have worked over the years to a lesser extent
in VISIO, raster to vector TracTrix and other r2v DataBase file conversion programs,
plus DataBase conversion programs of all sorts (ie. Flatfile,
Relational and Networked DBS) both within one another types and
between each other using different conversion programs and DBMS.

Familiarity with other DataBase Systems including:
FilePro, mySQL, DBI::DBD, DBM, Oracle Cheap DB 9i, Sybase, Informix, FoxPro, ...

FORMAL EDUCATION:

1989 - 1990 Advanced C programming , Concordia University.
1972 - 1976 Electro-Technology, Dawson College.
Additional Languages: German, French
