Part Two of The Current The "financialization" of the world: Satyajit Das We started with a clip from John Cusack's character Lloyd Dobler explaining his career hopes in the 1989 movie, Say Anything. It sounds as if he's absurdly limiting his opportunities -- but around the time that film came out, people working in finance were building a world where you could actually make a career and a lot of money without buying, selling or processing anything tangible. Satyajit Das calls that the "financialization" of the world. It's a process he witnessed first hand while working for some of the world's largest banks and investment firms. And he says we won't be able to deal with the economic uncertainty the world faces until we fix the problems financialization caused. Henrik Isben Biography An Enemy of the People (1882) In An Enemy of the People, Ibsen chastised not only the conservatism of society, but also the liberalism of the time. He illustrated how people on both sides of the social spectrum could be equally self-serving. Ghosts. The protagonist is a physician in a vacation spot whose primary draw is a public bath. The doctor discovers that the water is contaminated by the local tannery. He expects to be acclaimed for saving the town from the nightmare of infecting visitors with disease, but instead he is declared an 'enemy of the people' by the locals, who band against him and even throw stones through his windows. In such later plays as Hedda Gabler (1890) and The Master Builder (1892), Ibsen explored psychological conflicts that transcended a simple rejection of current conventions. THE PILLARS OF SOCIETY 1877 - Pillars of Society (Samfundets Støtter) In the opening scene of The Pillars of Society, we find Consul Bernick at the height of his career. The richest, most powerful and respected citizen of the community, he is held up as the model of an ideal husband and devoted father. In short, a worthy pillar of society. The strain of events and the final shock that he had exposed his own child to such peril, act like a stroke of lightning on the Consul. It makes him see that a house built on lies, shams, and crime must eventually sink by its own weight. Surrounded by those who truly love and therefore understand him, Consul Bernick, no longer the pillar of society, but the man becomes conscious of his better self. John Gabriel Borkman, which begins Ibsen's penultimate work, concerns a disgraced banker who spends his days pacing an upstairs room and bemoaning his downfall. We had a team of engineers right here in Montreal yet we 'The Canadian Government' allowed Philips of Indhoven Holland to buy out my company only to allow them to build a huge facility on Dr. Fredrick Philips boulivard and finaly to allow them to loose millions and end up closing the huge factory because of bad FU management decisions by a corporation made up of the 'old boys club' that may have been well suited to make lite bulbs, but not for leading edge technology! Structured Credit Products SCPs: Credit Derivatives and Synthetic Securitisation CDO Collateralised debt obligations. The premise is that banks would hold only a sliver of debt obligations leaving outside investors holding the bulk of the risk. CDs Credit Derivatives are a way of insuring credits issued. These are traded or sold OTC ( over the counter ) on the market. Here a dealer acts as a seller to buyers of this protection insurance. Hedge Funds are a way some dealers can bet that a certain dealer will default on a certain contract ie. fail which is potentially another avenue of making money on failure banking on top of failure. For example Bear Sterns sold derivatives through dealers and had the Feds not forced them to get their books of financial risk up to date in 2005 the proverbial shit could have hit the fan via Hedge Funds. We must know that CDs did not exist before the 1990's and are a new finagled way of insuring credit. The problems started there though in the 90's when realtors were making huge profits by overvaluing property, over estimating lenders income and ability to repay these overvalued properties loans ( the whole shebang was a smoke and mirrors game to make realtors rich ) ( How many late night TV shows had get rich books and schemes on showing how rich people became by becoming realtors. ) These derivatives backing the overvalued loans by people who could not repay them lead to the sub-prime fallout and were in fact the toxic- assets and became toxic when banks were hiding the truth via a backlog in CD documentation. ( keeping the sad truth under the rug. ) Everyone could get away with it due to a lack of verification of these loans, incomes, property values and in effect banks real value. This all was allowed to go on via lax laws in fact total illimination of regulation in the realestate market. The above were known as residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities. Collectively the above were sold as ABCP asset-backed commercial paper and were developed in the mid-80s. By mid 2007 the total value of outstanding ABCPs had reached 1.2 trillion. People with money (lenders) had been making a killing securing ( backing ) borrowers via CDO = ( CBO + CLO ) -- Collateralised Debt obligations. All kinds of other financial smoke and mirror games ( conduits ) were invented thanks to Micro$lop Excell and other computer software all on the back of this ABCP. New financial tools (conduits) became available like hedge funds, SIVs (structured investment vehicle), liquidity puts, SIV-Lite, bonds, covered bonds, The more this poisoned ABCP grew, the more financial risk mounted on the back of faked real value assets. The transaction arrangers are a very interesting lot when it comes to accepting new structured credit instruments or vehicles! Rating agencies CRAs sprung up who rated these new investment vehicles and they were of little help in real knowledge of the issues. But financial deregulation had already occured which lead to quite literal FRAUD When some insiders realised that real liquidity on some of these were very low, they shorted performed a margin call. Thus the liquidity crunch of Lehmans and Morgan Stanley in 2007. I'm about to set up my own financial rating agency and i'm going to call it 'Moody and Poor'. So now what gives within the EU zone? How is the EU going to handle their economic crisis? Perhaps they might follow the Ice- landic model or not? Synopsis:

of sugar, and the investment looks like a sound one. Sure
enough, Adrien’s shares begin to soar in value, and he begins
to plan his sweet, millionaire future. Then the bubble bursts.

Film Review
Inspired by the real-life sugar crisis of 1974, this film is an
entertaining satire on the world of big finance and speculation.
Although the story is a little bland, the film succeeds overall
because of the fine performances from Gérard Depardieu and Jean
Carmet. The unlikely pairing of an anarchistic con-artist and
a tired middle-aged civil servant works surprisingly well, and
this is certainly the focus of the film. The two actors won
Césars in 1980 for their parts in this film (Best Actor for
Depardieu, Best Supporting Actor for Carmet).

Henery Paulsons plan seems to be working in the
Washington anti bank tumble along with their
complex computer consolidated derivitives sold
on the International market!
The stock market has a thing called options and
we have "SHORT" and options and so called "PUT"
options. Then we now have computer algorithms
that allow for putting bets on either the "SHORTS"
bets or the "PUTS" bets.
These share shorts are bring sold without oven owning
the shares. This is further contributing to the market
downfall.
If you package a whole lot of these options in
a package of say a bundle of "PUTS" of say a
trillion dollers we have created a trillion
dollar derivative bundle. All created by
Quants or quantative analysts.
Stock market swapping is essentially off
the books trading and if someone bets on
the failure of one or another company that
too then becomes illegal.
Mortgage Credit default swaps.
The way i see it there is no difference between a
computer hacker, a Bill gates,
or any software engineer, or in fact any normal person
trying to make a few hundred billion dollars!
It's just ::: don't f**k me! And if you do, I'll ....

with a history of stock, originally a stick of hazel,
willow or alder wood, inscribed with notches
indicating monetary amounts and dates. When
funds were transferred, the stick was split
into identical halves with one side going to

safeguarding the money and represented proof
positive that gold had been deposited somewhere
to back it up. That was good enough for 600 years,
until we decided that we needed more speed and
efficiency.
The problem starts, as the current crisis
demonstrates, when unregulated replication
is applied to money itself. Highly complex
computer-generated financial instruments
(known as derivatives) are being produced,
not from natural factors of production or
other goods, but purely from other financial
instruments.
I find it impossible to believe that no one
has access to the algorithm(s) that created
these sub-ligitimate derivatives. Computers
do NOT create their own programs yet ( Not
any ones that work anyway and are certainly
not at the very least tested and tested again
by someone! )
so someone or some group had to be responsible
for their design, testing and distribution!
These newly created financial financial
products sold world wide were created by the
finincial community using these relatively
new complex and i believe very well concieved
computer algorithms ( if you want to call
something well conceived as in their ability
to fool so many intelligent and well educated
banking people ).

Going back through my life i start with my current situation. Please note that every court decision the judges made dispite the fact that i'm certified mentaly handycapped and was never granted a lawyer in my defence to boot i was confronted by judges who did not really understand English and my French has a lot of improvement be done to officially call me bi-lingual! Most of the time i doubt any of the judges fully understood the full extent of my issues or even cared since i was only a AKA modit Englais anyway. Cops too are crooked in more ways than one and some act like a fraternity of former gangsters like in 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' these four fully protected RCMP officers wearing bullet proof vests were if we believe their lies and BS were scared by a lone man holding up a stapler. Now i say this self evident extension of typical police harrassment their fun and games ( only in this case overuse of a deadly weapon called the TASER 5 times in a row ) and lead to the death of a recent visitor from Polland. This very thing happened to me while i was in police detention and all i had on were shorts and a t-shirt while held in police lockup and was not even issued a blanket like all the other inmates and allowed to freeze in 2006. With 4 fires in which i lost everything, a near fatal illness brought on by incompetent government food import and inspection testing and control, a hidden or in better descriptive language cover-up of a brain injury suffered and yet results obstructed by deliberate government coverup! This winter of 2009 i slipped on the poorly kept sidewalks and fractured 4 vertebrae in my spinal column to the point of regularly being perscribed hydromorphine by my CLSC recently finally acquired family physician which i previously never had due to our mismanaged healthcare system! This request into opening up the past after finding out about these EEG test results following a Access To Information request and waiting many months for archive retreival a few years ago was refused even though i was never granted a lawyer to assist me in filing for this Superior Court hearing am still being charged for their refusal to grant just this process and hearing. In effect they are keeping my normal GST supplement repayment checks untill their bill is payed! This whole affair tagged as docket #T-2116-06 cost me time and effort and monies since about all of 2006 and 2007 in preparation etc. etc. The suit included payment for damages caused by cover-up of critical facts like EEG results in case no. 60-004651. I also currently live in all i can afford which is a room in a rooming house and have been there since 2007 when i was forced to take my landlord to RDL rental court for infestation by cockroaches, bedbugs and mice among other housing rental board offences. Remember Thomas Darcy McGee the then Prime Minister of Canada who brought Canada together in confederation in 1867? Well in 1868 he was shot to death when returning to his rooming house on Spark Street in Ottawa! As with in my numerous RDL cases, many involve violence committed in and around rooming houses where I lived. Numerous hospital reports explaining broken or fractured 7th, 8th and 9th ribs, bones in general and even spinal column T7-T12 and L3 dics! Dispite perminent scaring on my body from these bedbugs to which i appear to have been alergic to, i was not awarded a single cent by the judge in compensation for over a year of fighting and all my costs i had to eat. Again i had no legal aid assistance dispite my mental disabilities and had to deal with everything on my own. I had presented the judge multiple files including a doctor report writen up by Dr. David Lasry dated Dec. 14, 2007 which told of massive red markings over my body consistant with bed bug bites which to this day i still have scars from. Prior to having left with wife and son to Dallas on a job transfer within Philips Data Systems in 1979 my dad commited suicide. I was so sensitive to the possibility of this happening yet could not really admit it to myself. When a best friend and myself were out hunting in his sugar bush and a neighbour came to tell me of this tragidy when he approached i actually asked him if my father had been out hunting rabbits, missed and shot himself instead. Admittedly a very bizzar phrase to come out with! When i was a kid, my mother told me that while she was in hospital having me she was given medicine to help her produce milk. They apparently gave her the wrong medicine and ended up in drying her up completely. After all that i have experienced with bungling by hospitals, companies, lawyers and judges etc. how can i ever get over all my traumatic experiences and recover from the brain damage that was never even brought to my attention! If only i could expand on all these traumatic experiences which actually started out not all that traumatic at all but by virtue of total incompitance and in fact outright attempt to 'COVER UP' much as the white man in general has done to the North American Indians and as i see most non white lifeforms in general, i am left with nothing but contempt! A society is the way it treats its disabled and impoverished in general and i now know most of the richest materially wealthy countries treat their disbled like S**t especially when it comes to the hidden disability called brain injury! To be sure even more to the point when they try to obfuscate the reality and even more so again when they in the end not only caused the problem but were involved in the coverup to begin with and then even deny the victum of justice. Gödel mistrusted our ability to communicate. Natural language, he thought, was imprecise, and we usually don't understand each other. Gödel wanted to prove a mathematical theorem that would have all the precision of mathematics the only language with any claims to precision but with the sweep of philosophy. He wanted a mathematical theorem that would speak to the issues of meta-mathematics. And two extraordinary things happened. One is that he actually did produce such a theorem. The other is that it was interpreted by the jazzier parts of the intellectual culture as saying, philosophically exactly the opposite of what he had been intending to say with it. GOLDSTEIN: Gödel's did not see language as constructive of reality. Language rather is subordinate to reality. But that doesn't mean that language isn't important in the proof, that there isn't something fascinating going on in the languages spoken, so to speak, within the proof. In fact, the proof is a layering of different kinds of language, and the way in which the proof links these layers is the essence of the proof's strategy. There's the purely mathematical language, and then there is the meta-language that's describing the formal systems themselves, the rules of the formal systems. The cunning is that he gets sentences which say something straightforwardly arithmetical to also say something about themselves. These sentences manage to speak on two levels, and this double-speak is accomplished through what we now call Gödel numbering. Each of the elements in the system has a number, and you can also assign numbers to the well-formed formulas composed of those element, and to the sequences of well-formed formulas, which are what proofs are—by combinatorial rules. Given any string of symbols you can derive the unique number that goes with that string, and vice-versa. Because of the Gödel numbering those propositions are saying something straightforwardly arithmetical but they're also saying something about themselves, something about their own formal properties. As the world is now already, the tangential swings of the jet streams shifting as though a mad man was pulling them around and what happens next? It the jet streams turn into a pulsating veritable resonant frequency turbulence of motion that can ( in biblical fashion ) pulverize the whole planet. Mother nature GAIA is in charge! The fluctuations may be weak and barely noticeable at first however as the mood of GAIA begins to swing more and more chaotically from a moment of calm to a moment of utter violence, you will see. Like a temper tantrum of a 2 year old, or the mood swings of a woman in her menopause heat flash points. Yes mother nature does emulate humanity or should I say, nature and mankind emulates mother nature. The trouble is that on a time scale, when mother nature gets bitchy, I don't think it will only last a few hours or days, It'll be years or maybe centuries. Don't forget that the oceans are GAIAs heat sink, and it didn't take a few days to heat up and it ain't gonna take a few days to cool down!
