Job Description:
This position involves managing the deployment of the hardware, software and
connectivity supporting a high traffic e-commerce website. The individual will
report to the CTO and work with the Technology Director to ensure the site
grows in features and capabilities while maintaining high availabilty and
rapid response.
i've been there and done that, several times in the past, only not
specifically for "a high traffic e-commerce website".
As a second aspect, this position also involves managing the deployment of the
hardware, software and connectivity needed for the development of the site.
Very proficient with the deployment of both
hardware and software with regards to connectivity.
The position will require interfacing with, among others: - the CTO and the VP
Business Development for high level requirements; - the Technology Director
for the planning of the hardware and software needed; - the Site Development
Manager for the implementation of capabilities into the site; - hosting
providers and ISPs; - employees hired to assist this person in this task, as
it becomes needed; - hardware and software vendors. Primary Responsibilities
of Position: - manage the deployment servers (partly directly, partly
interfacing with the hosting company and possibly with third party
consultants) to ensure the website's availability and speed; - plan the needs
for the deployment servers; propose and manage relative timetables and
budgets; - administer the network and workstations at the development centre.
i have worked closely in the past with such companies such as Novell, Cisco,
HP, Bell Sigma, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, SUN, INTEL, NORTEL, Bay Networks,
Sprint, and others, in building both internal LANs and Wide Area Networks!
Also; i've worked with and satisfied clients Network requirements, from small
businesses to large corporations and companies and government branches such
as: US GAO, US Naval Costal Systems center, Bell Hellicopter TEXTRON, MEDIS,
DataRadio, Black & McDonald, etc.
At least 4 years experience in UNIX systems and network management.
i probably have about 10 years all together.
At least 2 years experience with all of the following: - Apache HTTPD
deployment (plugins, modules, etc);
Sorry, i only have limited experience with the Apache HTTPd Internet Web
Server. My main experience is with LAN and WAN servers and with NCSA and
