there's a chocolate cake in the fridge. it's covered with smooth-looking chocolate icing. the coffee drips and the heater rotates. the saturday mug, VanGogh's Outdoor cafe, now by my side, i can stay put for some time. i can sit and tell you about how the eric carmen song came on the radio the other day, "No I'll never fall in love again...." the beauty of that melody, the way it floats up and down, effortlessly, "No I'll never find someone new", if you didn't grow up listening to that song, you may not understand...but i believe that there are universals when it comes to music. songs which if you grew up listening to, will always bring back memories...those memories may be different for each, but these are songs which stay with you. And i can tell you about how my papa taught me that the melody was borrowed from Rachmaninov's 2nd Symphony, which brings out the beauty of it even more...

well i didn't stay put for very long because i went to put some music on...music becoming a cornerstone for me once again, a good sign. the lyrics more meaningful, the melodies lulling me into dreamland where time stands still. she writes her own music, she does. 'Here we are'. 'Don't want to lose you now' 'Anything for you'... she must have had one rough breakup. couldn't imagine that. couldn't imagine having not having it all, my cake, Rachmaninov, the saturday mug, and Gloria...
