Thanks to a suggestion by a friend from France, I've enjoyed listening to Anggun's Chrysalids. She's a singer that is very popular in Indonesia and France. I've also been enjoying Lee Ann Womack's Something worth leaving behind, and Chantal Kreviazuk's What if it all means something. I'm enjoying the singing on CDs by Amel Bent, Mélanie Renaud, and Nädiya, though unfortunately I don't understand the words which are in French.
Do I like stuffed toy animals? Of course.
Eyes: change colour depending upon lighting and surroundings: green, grey, blue.
Favourite movies: Harvey, Our Man in Havana, The Mouse that Roared, Desk Set, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Twelve Angry Men, Pocketful of Miracles, The Apartment, The Russians Are Coming - The Russians Are Coming, The China Syndrome, Working Girl, Aliens, Panic Room .... I readily admit that I like happy endings. And I sometimes cry.
Favourite radio station: CBC Radio One --- as I have sometimes been known to stay up kind of late , I also enjoy Radio Nederlands and ABC Australia, which are carried on CBC Overnight.
Hobbies/activities: enjoying coffee and conversations, petting cats, reading newspapers, participating on message boards, watching tennis, going for walks (in nice weather), shopping for clothes (especially skirts!) and children's books, and dancing. My favourite tennis players are Sonya Jeyaseelan (Canada) and Venus Williams (United States).

Cherryh, Isaac Asimov, and Sherri Tepper, Tad William's Tailchaser's Song, and Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. I read lots of books, not only science fiction, but mysteries and non-fiction. I enjoyed reading Nancy Garden's Annie on my mind and Francesca Lia Block's Violet and Claire, and Tea Benduhn's sweet, romantic novel, Gravel Queen.

As a volunteer I regularly write reviews of childrens books.
Favourite stores: Tim Horton's, Sirens, Smart Set, Dynamite, and Suzy Shier. Chapters was my favourite bookstore, but with the takeover of Chapters by Indigo Books I find a lot of books have been replaced by candles, giftware, greeting cards .... it seems anything but books.. It's supposed to be a bookstore. And Chapters was always more comfortable. Now my favourite bookstore is Another Story, which has an excellent selection of children's books but also many other great books too.

|"True leaning begins with unlearning
Every great inventor or scientist
has had to unlearn conventional
wisdom in order to proceed with
his work. For example, conventional
wisdom said, `If God had meant
man to fly, He would have given
him wings.' But the Wright brothers
disagreed and built an airplane."
