editing
You have a manuscript, but is it ready for publication?
Some publishers have their own editors. Others expect camera-ready manuscripts. That is, they expect you to do your own editing or have someone do it for you. I offer three basic kinds of editing.
Copy editing involves the correction of mistakes in grammar and punctuation. Stylistic editing involves changes to make the text flow more easily or gracefully. Substantive editing involves comments on conceptual problems.
